So, I have a weak spot for lost animals. When I see a stray/lost dog, I usually stop to see if I can help it. Well, today I found a stray/lost turtle/tortoise. This little guy/gal was wandering around the moist asphalt in my neighborhood. At first I thought it was a piece of trash or roadkill pidgeon, but then I saw his/her little head move. The first time I approached it, it ran under a neighbors truck. Yes, it RAN.. and RAN FAST! (I'm starting to think the whole tortoise and hare story is BS.) So I went knocking on the neighbors' door to see if anyone had a lost a pet, and of course there was no answer anywhere. So, I left him/her under the truck and went inside the house. Now, I mentioned that the ground was wet outside, and that is because it was raining pretty hard this morning, therefore there was an overcast. About an hour after going inside the house, I noticed the sun had came out and it was once again getting hot outside. Needless to say, I felt bad for the little one out there, so I sucked up my fear of getting bitten by a reptile, and chased it down.
I, of course, carelessly used the shoe box for the shoes that I got in the mail today, and didn't even try on yet. Then this stinker peed in the box... good thing the shoes fit and I don't need to return them. =]
I called the BIL to see what I should do since Andrew was at work, and luckily Jesse still had his tank from his old snake. I think the little one was relieved to get out of the heat.
Jesse ended up taking him/her home, and I suppose only time will tell what will happen...
